This summer marks the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway that ran from New York to California. USA Today Travel makes a big point of it in today's issue. The Lincoln Highway appears in the thriller Key to Lawrence. The Benleys are driving Dora back to Bryn Mawr College in 1915, two years after the highway opened, when Dora sees the saboteur pursuing them through rural Pennsylvania on what is now US 30 that parallels the Pennsylvania Turnpike. There’s a car chase over a covered bridge all the way into Bedford and Old Bedford Village. It’s history in the making as pictured today on http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org.
